Spring Break's "Break"
I'm consciously taking a break this week. No writing for eight days - the first time I've made a clear cut choice to not work. Usually my breaks come when I'm not creative or when I don't have "inspiration." This time, to keep myself from getting burnout, I'm taking a break to get wind back in my sails. Instead of writing on my days off from my "day job," I'm sitting outside, sunning myself in my backyard, reading a book. I'm catching up on my reread of The League and finishing off "Black Dagger Brotherhood" books I haven't finished yet. I'm not getting up at six every day to write. I'm just letting my mind wander through stories I'm working on and create ideas for next week. Once spring break is over, I'll log back onto the word processor and start again.
Everyone needs a break sometimes. No matter how much we love our lives and our jobs the time comes when we need to refill our batteries - drink too many umbrella drinks, hike the mountains, and sleep in.
