"Looks" to Be Trouble

Everyone is a marvelous writer until you run your editing software. I use Autocrit to help me with my grammar issues. I work the story, rework it, do two rounds of self-editing, and then run the software. "You have 75,000 words. You use 'looks' 157 times. Please remove 141 instances of this word." So editing goes. Scrolling through the document, looking for the red highlighted "looks," the thesaurus open, and rewording sentences.
